Search continues for driver that left Lake Country senior in serious condition

Lake Country RCMP are continuing to ask for the public’s help in finding more information about a hit and run that took place in early January.

At about 6:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30, a senior was struck by a vehicle in the 12000 block of Carr’s Landing Road. The driver fled the scene while the senior was left with serious injuries.

Cpl. Ryder Birtwistle confirmed with Capital News that the senior is still in hospital with a serious head injury, more than five weeks after the incident. He also confirmed that as part of the investigation, the RCMP have spoken to residents and businesses in the neighbourhood, but are still looking for leads to find the driver of the vehicle. Police are asking the driver of the vehicle to come forward.
