Viva la Repubblica! Celebrate Italy’s Republic Day in Kelowna

Attendees can taste Italian delicacies, and enjoy activities, entertainment, and displays

Every year on June 2, Italy is awash in green, white, and red, marking the celebration of Festa della Repubblica, or Republic Day.

The national holiday commemorates the day in 1946 when the Italian people voted to abolish the monarchy and establish a republic.

The Kelowna Canadian Italian Club (KCIC) invites the community to join the celebration of heritage and democratic freedom.

Attendees can taste Italian delicacies, and enjoy activities, entertainment, and displays. The festivities are open to everyone. The event takes place at the KCIC at 770 Lawrence Avenue from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with street closure and local traffic only.

Fest Della Repubblica Program

  • BC Dragoons
  • Opening remarks by Mayor Tom Dyas at 1:30 p.m.;
  • KCIC President, Rosann Nanci and KCIC VP, Cinzia Zotta-Wendland;
  • Singing of Oh Canada and Italian National Anthem by Miss KCIC Angelina Agostino;
  • Italian food and beverage sales (CASH ONLY);
  • Beverages and cash bar;
  • Complimentary celebratory cake;
  • Italian Car Show & Shine, live music, Al fresco dining;
  • Photo booth, kids games, cultural displays, and Italian trivia;
  • Face painting and temporary tattoos.
