In just one day more than $5,000 has been raised for the man whose RV exploded last week in Penticton.
Mary Moorman has started a Gofundme for Denis Legace after his RV blew up with him in it on Feb. 15 at Happy Hills RV Resort.
In the Gofundme, she said that Legace was living off of disability when it is believed a propane tank being installed sprung a leak causing his ‘humble home’ to explode. Penticton Fire Department has not yet spoken on the incident.
According to Moorman, Legace will take time to recover from significant burns he sustained. His senior dog was with him at the time but only suffered singed fur.
With no money to purchase a replacement RV, Moorman is hoping the community can come together to help.
“I know this community can help him, with even small donations,” she said. The idea behind the fundraiser is to purchase a small used RV and have it in place for Legace and his dog soon.
“Nothing extravagant, but humble, warm and dry.”
In one day, more than $5,000 has been raised towards the $20,000 goal.
