The Kelowna RCMP are investigating after receiving reports of vehicles broken into in a downtown parkade late Monday evening.
The Kelowna RCMP responded on April 4 at 9:37 p.m., to a report of a theft from vehicle that just occurred at the Library Plaza parkade located near Ellis Street and Doyle Avenue. A witness told police that they observed a suspect actively breaking into a truck parked in the parkade which was full of vehicles attending a nearby event.
"Several officers responded to the report and set up an area of containment," said Const. Jesse O'Donaghey, in a press release.
"The parkade was temporarily blocked while a Police Service Dog attended to conduct a search for the suspect. At least three vehicles were reported to police as entered or broken into having loose change stolen from inside."
The RCMP continue to investigate and are searching for a suspect described to investigators as:
· Caucasian man;
· With short spikey hair;
· Wearing a brown coat;
