A sad ending has come to a two-month hunt for a missing horse.

Mr. Ed, a dun quarter horse, was reported missing from his Lumby home late January. Owner Linda Fawcett said he was found passed away by a tree pile on the property.

Despite an extensive search of the property and nearby areas in January, the snow likely covered any trace of the horse, who wasn’t found until it melted.

The community’s assistance in the matter is appreciated.

“Thank you for all your help,” said Fawcett.
