Reservation-booking site OpenTable announced its picks for the best restaurants in Canada for 2016, and a West Kelowna spot made the list.
Quails Gate was listed among the Top 100 restaurants in Canada for having the “best overall food and hospitality across the country,” according to 480,000 reviews by verified OpenTable diners at more than 1,900 restaurants.
It was the only Okanagan mention, although B.C. in general fared well with 24 restaurants throughout getting a nod.
Ontario had 45 restaurants listed, Alberta had 18 and Québec came out with 11. Manitoba has two eateries that made the cut.
For the first time since OpenTable began compiling this list in 2014, Italian proved the most popular cuisine among diners, followed by Canadian and French cuisines placing second and third respectively. Restaurants serving Japanese, Contemporary American, Spanish and Mediterranean cuisines also ranked in the Top 100.
