Emergency personnel are cleaning up a mess on Rio Drive after a bucket truck inadvertently took out power and communication lines.
Early reports indicate the truck took out lines to four or five poles, cutting off power to many homes.
According to one resident on scene, the neighbourhood heard a large crash at about 3:10 p.m.
There are no reports of injuries.

FortisBC is reporting residents can expect power to return by 9 p.m.
Rio Drive is single-lane alternating.
