Garson, Ethel (Marion) Johnson

October 14, 1926 - January 14, 2017

With sadness in our hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our beautiful fiesty mother and grandmother, Marion Garson at the age of 90 years.  Predeceased by her loving husband Jim in 2014, she is survived by her children Lori (Ritchie), Linda (Vito), Jim (Wendy) Michael (Bonnie) and Paul.  She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren Darran, Daniel, Kayla (Jon), Cheri, Haley, Julie, Grace and Jake; great-grandaughter Maia, sister Joan, the Inkster family and many close friends.

Marion was born in Winnipeg where she married Jim, her husband of over 60 years.  After having 3 children of their own, they opened up their hearts and adopted twin boys (Mike and Paul) who became part of the family instantly.   Favorite memories were the fun times spending summers at the cottage on Westhawk Lake.  In 1978 they relocated to Kelowna for their retirement years where they stayed very active in the community and made many new friends.

Marion was young at heart, always dressed in fashion and looked beautiful.   She had many interests which included ceramics, yoga, bowling, health, gardening, church activities, shopping, dancing, entertaining, socializing with friends and having a glass of wine (or 2).  Her greatest joy was spending time at family gatherings.

She will be missed by all that knew her.

Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Sun Pointe Village where she spent her final years.  A celebration of Life will be held in the spring - date to be determined.  If you would like to attend, please email your contact info to thegarsons@shaw.ca.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society Canada at www.alzheimer.ca
