Kelowna Rockets announce home opener for 2023-24 season

The rest of the season will be announced Tuesday afternoon

It maybe the beginning of summer but were only a few months away from puck drop on the Kelowna Rockets season.

The team announced on Monday, June 26 that their home and season opener for the 2023-24 season is going to take place on Saturday, Sept. 23 when they welcome the Portland Winterhawks to town.

It is the second consecutive year the Rockets and hosting Portland for their home opener. Last season, the Winterhawks won the opening game 6-5.

On top of the home opener, the Rockets four-game preseason schedule was also announced:

  • Friday, Sept. 8 @ Kamloops Blazers - Sandman Centre 7:00 PM
  • Saturday, Sept. 9 vs. Kamloops Blazers - Prospera Place 7:05 PM
  • Friday, Sept. 15 vs. Vancouver Giants - Prospera Place 7:05 PM
  • Saturday, Sept. 16 vs. Victoria Royals - Prospera Place 7:05 PM

The remainder of the 23-24 regular season will be announced on Tuesday, June 27.

Tickets for the home opener are not on sale yet. The Rockets will announce the day they will go on sale to the public.
