The highlight of the weekend’s event occurred in the Novice Women’s division, as 13-year-old Emma Bulawka captured gold with a personal best score of 108.14 points.  She opened with a 5th place short program finish, but stormed back to win the overall event thanks to a clean free program that included 3 triple jumps.

Another highlight occurred at the Pre-Novice level, as 12-year-old Daria Carr won both segments of group 1 and finished with a score of 91.98 points, which was over 18 points higher than the second place finisher.

Meanwhile, Kelowna’s Vienna Harwood won group 2 of Pre-Novice, while Maya Rose won the silver medal in group 3.

The local team also showed strength at the lower levels, as Kiera Atkins and Katie Jones finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in group 2 of Pre-Juvenile Women under 11.
