The Kelowna Owls broke into the top 10 again in B.C. AAA boys rugby.

Overcoming youth and inexperience throughout the lineup, the KSS Owls finished a respectable 10th this season at the B.C. high school boys AAA rugby finals.

In the 9th/10th place game last week at provincials, the Owls dropped a 20-19  heartbreaker 20-19 to West Vancouver.

The Owls, who went in ranked 11th, opened provincials with a loss to Carson Graham, then rebounded with a 32-20 victory over Claremont.

It was the seventh year in a row the KSS boys team had an average top-10 ranking in B.C.

Among public schools, the Owls ranked No. 8.

"Amazing for an extremely raw and inexperienced group of guys," said Owls coach Dave Marfleet.

Prior to provincials, the Owls clinched yet another Okanagan Valley championship with a 50-10 victory over Salmon Arm.
