Rockets deal Borstmayer to Vancouver

Former WHL bantam draft pick dealt ahead of the WHL trade deadline

The Rockets have traded former bantam draft player Jordan Borstmayer to Vancouver.

The Kelowna Rockets have acquired a conditional 5th round pick from the Vancouver Giants in exchange for forward Jordan Borstmayer.

Borstmayer was in his second full season with the Rockets.

The trade came five days prior to the January 10th trade deadline.

"It was just a situation where we felt it would be beneficial for both sides if Borstmayer had a change of scenery. He deserves more ice time and by circumstance he wasn't able to get it here. We wish Jordan all the best in Vancouver," said Bruce Hamilton, GM of the Rockets.

Borstmayer played in 96 games for the Rockets recording 6 goals and 6 assists for 12 points. He also added 14 PIMs and a -22 +/-.
