The West Kelowna Warriors have beefed up their front end in a trade for a veteran forward.

The BCHL squad added Trent Wilson from the Powell River Kings, in exchange for forwards Kailus Green and Matthew Lee.

Green spent one full season with the Warriors last year, potting 15 points in 50 games. Lee suited up for 19 games with the Warriors, posting seven points.

“First, we want to thank Kailus and Matthew for their contributions to the Warriors last season,” said Warriors General Manager and Head Coach Simon Ferguson, “Our goal this summer was to only make moves that we feel will help us win hockey games. Trent is a player who our staff watched throughout the last two season and we feel he can help push us to the next level.”

In Wilson, they get a veteran of two seasons with the Surrey Eagles, before being traded to the Kings this offseason. In 83 total games at the junior level, he has put up 32 points.

Wilson said that he is “super excited” to play for West Kelowna.

“I’ve heard a lot of great things about the organization and city. I can’t wait to get up there and get to work.”
