A fire at Kelowna’s Tent City early Thursday morning has been deemed suspicious.

Around 1 a.m. on Jan. 11, the Kelowna Fire Department (KFD) received multiple calls of a large fire at OS4 in the 800 block of Weddell Place.

The first officer that arrived at the scene reported the fire was spreading rapidly but crews were able to douse the blaze quickly.

While no one was injured in the incident, the fire destoryed one tent and damaged two others.

The fire remains under investigation.

KFD responded with two engines, and a command unit, totalling nine fire personnel.

Emergency services and the Kelowna RCMP also attended the scene.
