After a Tuesday night win, the Kelowna Rockets couldn’t keep the momentum going as they lost 2-0 against the Seattle Thunderbirds on Wednesday night.

The Rockets ended their losing streak against Lethbridge the night before, the team made their way down the I5 to Seattle but the offense stayed at home.

Seattle opened the scoring at the 5:10 mark of the second period when Eric Alarie scored his eighth goal of the year to make it 1-0.

The Thunderbirds didn’t make it 2-0 until late in the third period when Simon Lovsin added an empty-netter.

Rockets goaltender Jari Kykkanen stood on his head in net despite the loss, making 35 saves. Meanwhile Rockets managed just 19 shots on net as Thunderbirds goalie Scott Ratzlaff earned the shutout.

With the loss, the Rockets are 10th in the Western Conference with a 8-13-2-0 record while Seattle is seventh with a 10-8-1-0 record.

The two teams will meet again on Saturday night (Nov. 25) at Prospera Place in Kelowna for Teddy Bear Toss night. Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m.
