The Kelowna Rockets were shut out for the second game in a row in their Western semi-final playoff series against the Prince George Cougars.

After losing 4-0 on Friday night (April 12) the Rockets fell 5-0 to Prince George on Saturday night, giving the Cougars a 2-0 series lead.

The power play did not click for either team during Saturday’s game as Kelowna failed to score in four changes, and the Cougars missed out on six opportunities.

Prince George did get a short-handed goal from Viliam Kmec (3) at 3:358 of the first period.

The Cougars outshot Kelowna 44-16. Rockets goaltender Jari Kykkanen faced 33 shots in game one.

The series shifts to Kelowna for Games 3 and 4 at Prospera Place on Tuesday, April 16, and Wednesday, April 17.
