The ultimate way to have fun in the summer is with a frisbee and a group of fun-loving folks.

Thankfully, Kelowna Ultimate is offering a variety of summer programs for kids and adults of all levels to enjoy.

On Wednesday April 17 and 24, kiddos aged 7-14 can take part in the free KidStart program.

The free program runs at the Parkinson Recreation Centre from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

At the same time but in a neighbouring field, the adult FlickStart program will run for parents, older siblings and all interested people to learn the fundamentals of Ultimate Frisbee.

The FlickStart program will cover throwing, catching, non-contact defence and game rules.

“This will be a relaxed learning environment, so feel free to attend with family or convince that friend you’ve been trying to get out to play ultimate,” said Kelowna Ultimate.

Participants are asked to bring water and cleats or athletic shoes.

Email gm@kelownaultimate.com or visit kelownaultimate.com to register and learn more about both programs.

Interested adults of all skill levels can also participate in the weekly Ultimate Frisbee league which is a two-hour skills and scrimmage each Tuesday from May 21 - July 16.

The Tuesday league is drop-in friendly and frisbee fanatics are welcome to show up on their own to make new disc hucking pals.

On Thursdays, the co-ed 7v7 teams meet to play on the Parkinson Rec fields. If you do not have a team and would like to join, visit the Kelowna Ultimate Frisbee Facebook page.
